AI Copywriting

Definition

The use of artificial intelligence to generate marketing copy, such as blog posts, emails, and ads. AI tools analyze data and user intent to create optimized content.

Example Use Case

A small business owner uses ChatGPT to draft blog posts about their industry, saving hours of writing time.

AI copywriting tools produce a first draft on demand, which makes them most useful at the start of a project rather than the end. They are good at clearing a blank page, generating variations to test, and reformatting existing material for a different channel.

The limits matter more than the capabilities. Generated copy has no first-hand experience of the product, no access to your customers’actual objections, and a tendency toward confident generalities. Published unedited, it produces the generic content that readers and search engines both discount.

The workable pattern is human-led: a person decides the angle and the specific claims, the tool drafts, and a person edits for accuracy and voice. Treat output as material to revise rather than a finished asset.
